Technical Assistance

Provision of quality assured technical assistance is a key objective of TSFWCA. Short-term technical assistance (STTA) is the term used to describe a piece of work completed by a consultant or team of consultants for a period of between 1 to 40 days.

There are many reasons why organizations use consultants and these may include :

  • to diagnose complex problems
  • to design approaches and plans for organizational mandates or challenges
  • to assist in the implementation of approaches to organizational problems
  • to help managers implement difficult or unpopular decisions
  • to provide expert and specialist
  • to provide short term capacity to get a job done
  • to evaluate effects of programmes

When faced with any of the above problems organizations need to consider whether they need to hire new staff, train an existing member of staff or engage the services of a short-term consultant.
The process of TA and its management begins from the reception of the TOR.

Quality Assurance

The TSF assures the quality of the work done by its consultants through :

  • Screening of consultants before they are registered on its database.
  • Match the right consultant to the given Terms of Reference.
  • Orienting consultants to client contexts and expectations by supplying appropriate background information.
  • Assisting clients and consultants to manage assignments for optimum results.
  • Reviewing and refining the quality of consultants’ outputs.
  • Soliciting client and consultant feedback for further improvement of TSF services.
  • Ongoing skills development to further enhance consultant capacities to deliver quality outputs.
